Gartner FP&A MQ OneStream

It’s budgeting season for most Finance teams, and with all the turmoil that persists in the global economic landscape, the need for agile budgeting, planning, and forecasting software couldn’t be greater. So it’s timely that Gartner® has published the 2024 Magic Quadrant™ for Financial Planning Software and recognized OneStream as a Leader!

Read on to learn why OneStream was recognized as a Leader for the 3rd year running, why this is important and what customers are saying about us.

Celebrating Three Years as a Leader

In the 2024 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Financial Planning Software, the Gartner analyst team evaluated the top 16 vendors in the market based on their “ability to execute” and “completeness of vision.” Based on their assessment, which is performed through an RFI response, demonstrations and customer references, Gartner positioned the vendors into one of four quadrants – Leaders, Visionaries, Challenges and Niche Vendors.

For the third year running, OneStream was recognized as a Leader in the 2024 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Financial Planning Software. (See Figure 1 below.)

Why This Matters

As organizations migrate from spreadsheets and legacy, on premise applications to the cloud, they are increasingly looking for unified platforms that can replace multiple point solutions, reduce admin costs, streamline business processes and provide rapid financial and operational insights to decision-makers. We see that a report like the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Financial Planning Software helps Finance leaders everywhere discover new solutions to help them keep pace and become more strategic than ever.

We believe OneStream was recognized as a leader based on the breadth and depth of our platform, supporting a broad range of financial and operational planning, budgeting and forecasting processes, as well as financial close and consolidation, reporting and analysis. OneStream’s Extensible Dimensionality® was also called out as a key innovation, supporting both summarized and detailed planning and reporting within a unified application, which is an asset for companies seeking harmonized financial and operational reporting.

Other key strengths that were called out include:

Predictive Analytics – with capabilities spanning diverse use cases across impactful client forecasting processes like cash flow, working capital, demand, expenses, and internal and external driver-based models.

Starter Kits – including our CPM and ESG blueprint solutions as well as CPM Express solution, which accelerates deployments with predefined capabilities and reports.

Product Strategy – citing OneStream’s consistent delivery on roadmap enhancements providing functionality such as driver identification and narrative reporting, which help clients understand variance drivers and produce faster, more accurate reporting.
