Q. How long have you been with OneStream and what region do you work in?
A. I started on July 2nd 2018 and I am based in Munich, Germany.
Q. What is your role within the OneStream organization and what does it entail?
A. Hired as a Senior Consultant DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), for OneStream's EMEA Services division. I will be implementing OneStream XF in Europe, focusing on clients that are based in the German-speaking region.
Q. What impressed you the most about OneStream and why did you choose to work here?
A. OneStream offered me the chance to join a future leader in the CPM landscape at an early stage and be part of a success story in which I am encouraged to work independently. This prospect of actually creating something rather than only chasing projects was highly enticing! In short: Conquering the German-speaking part of Europe for a dynamic and fun enterprise like OneStream is my goal and made me sign! I was (and still am) most impressed by OneStream's dedication to customer satisfaction. I am thrilled that this is not just just a marketing stunt and committed to make sure that all of my (future) clients will become a reference too!
Q. What is your background and what would you consider your specialty?
A. I used to implement Oracle HFM applications and I like to think that financial consolidation is my specialty (though there is still a long way to go before I might consider myself a real specialist in that field).
Q. What are some work projects you are excited to work on in the upcoming months?
A. Looking forward to implement OneStream as a part of the project team in order to prepare myself for leading my own projects soon. My current client is based in London, certainly a nice place to begin with.
Q. What's your favorite quote and why?
A. Einstein: "The important thing is not to stop questioning." Stay curious, how else will you progress?
Q. If could go anywhere in the world where would you go?
A. Etosha National Park, Namibia. This is why: Big mammals, endangered species, fascinating landscapes, pristine woodlands, boiling-hot deserts, endless savannas, remoteness, stargazing and the ability to roam freely in a safe country with hospitable people. This I connect with a feeling of ultimate freedom which is ever more hard to find these days. Although I already live in paradise, I am not done visiting other places of Eden around the globe and the Etosha National Park is currently at the top of my list of "Edens to explore!"
Q. If you could offer any piece of advice to our readers what would it be?
A. Make sure to get in touch with people who are already using the software that you are considering to acquire.
Q. What is something you are passionate about?
A. I am passionate about living a happy life! That includes working with fun people, making a living with a cognitively demanding and diverse job as well as spending my free time climbing mountains with my loved ones.
Q. What's a fun fact or something funny you want to share about yourself?
A. I have a collection of jars in my kitchen that are filled with all kinds of colorful foodstuffs drowned in liquid, bubbling from time to time. The reason being: I love experimenting with fermenting food! Did you ever wonder what it tastes like if you ferment red cabbage, tofu, ginger and curry for a month? Be ready for a taste explosion!
